Tetiaroa

Tetiaroa is one of French Polynesia’s most exclusive and least accessible island destinations, a private atoll north of Tahiti made up of a ring of motus surrounding a protected lagoon. Once a retreat for Tahitian royalty and later the private sanctuary of Marlon Brando, Tetiaroa has a rare sense of stillness, beauty and seclusion that sets it apart from the busier resort islands.

The atoll is best known as the home of The Brando, an ultra-luxury eco-resort set on Onetahi motu. Guests arrive by Air Tetiaroa from Tahiti, with the flight revealing the atoll from above – pale sand, reef, lagoon and palm-covered islets sitting in deep Pacific blue. Tetiaroa has no navigable reef pass, so access is highly controlled, adding to its feeling of privacy and protection.

Nature is central to the Tetiaroa experience. The lagoon, birdlife, coral reef, beaches and conservation work give the atoll a quieter, more purposeful form of luxury. It is ideal for travellers seeking privacy, romance, wellness, wildlife, cultural depth and a once-in-a-lifetime private island stay.
