Located on its own private island off Espiritu Santo, Ratua Island Resort & Spa is enchanting.

Its stunning location is matched only by its distinctive accommodation – 1 and 2 Bedroom century old teak wood Beachfront Villas and Deluxe Marquees.  Each Villa has a private deck and is quirkily adorned with rustic furnishings, antiques and curios. Many feature an external vintage bathroom attached to the master bedroom or Villa by a covered patio.

The Deluxe Marquees offer a unique ‘glamping’ experience, reminiscent of a luxury safari tent, with ensuite facilities, semi outdoor shower and a front porch overlooking a tranquil bay.

Designed to integrate with environment and minimize impact, each accommodation is carefully sited to provide stunning ocean views and privacy in 3 separate ‘villages’ – Fish, West and South Village. Each village flows from the resort’s central facility and restaurant, The Yacht Club.

Surrounded by private white sand beaches and a turquoise lagoon laden with sea life and coral reefs, the Island of Ratua is not only visually splendid, but is also a fertile oasis. The island farms much of its own produce, including livestock and organic vegetables, and has its own mature coconut plantation that supplies the resort with the fruit and oil.

With a maximum of 42 guests at any time, space is plentiful. Guests are free to explore the island in its entirety, either by bicycle or horseback. The tranquil lagoon is ideal for SUP, kayaks or snorkelling. For the more thrill seeking, you can water ski or sit tight in a ski biscuit. Or enjoy the best of both worlds and swim with the horses!

Offshore tours are available including fishing, visiting some of Santo’s many sites (dive the SS President Coolidge or swim in Santo’s famous Champagne Beach) or grab a canoe and head to the Malo Blue Hole for a swim in its iridescent waters. Whether you are a couple or a family, there is so much to do.

(It should be mentioned that famillies are welcome in Fish Village year round, and in the West and South Village during designated school holiday periods.)
