They’re rare. But don’t despair!
Having trouble finding family holiday escapes with deals valid over School Holidays? There’s still some availability for travel: 2016 July, September & Christmas School Holidays plus Easter 2017. Read my top picks below or contact the team now for advice.
It’s only March. But it feels like half the year has gone already.
For mine the 1st of February marks the official start to the ‘working’ year. Sure – most of us have been at work for the best part of 3.5 weeks when it rolls around, but January still has something of a ‘holiday’ feel to it. The traffic flows, overtime is kept to a minimum allowing for spontaneous BBQ’s, we get out and about enjoying the many outdoor festivities available and there is that beautiful sense of ‘enough time’ as we mark the year off in days and not months.
Then suddenly it’s March. School’s in full swing. The year’s projects have not only kicked in, but you realise you wasted the first month of the year and are now behind the 8 ball. You wake up with that familiar niggle of exhaustion as the alarm goes off…earlier…so that you can fit 28 hours of chores and activities into your 24 hour day. Your diary is filling up at a rate of knots… sports carnivals, ballet concerts, parent teacher interviews, exam timetables, music lessons, project deadlines, reports and work trips are co-ordinated with a level of precision that a military strategist would be proud of.
Yes – another year is in full swing and despite your New Year’s Resolution to ‘keep it simpler’, 2016 is shaping up to be more high energy and super charged than any that have come before it.
What’s the one thing we have all forgotten to do?
But before you lose the year entirely to responsibilities, projects and chores it’s time to focus on THE most important thing that needs to be done now….book a holiday! Yes – it’s peak booking time as families all over Australia are reminded of how invaluable a ‘family rest break’ actually is. I say ‘family rest break’ because a family holiday is really only of value if the entire family gets a rest. And mum and dad really only get a rest if the kids are happy.
Fiji is a long time favourite destination of Australian families due to its close proximity, warm climate, stunning terrain and its beautiful residents. Fiji’s family friendly resorts fill up quickly during the school holiday breaks. For some of the more famous and popular islands, accommodation has already been snapped up by families who have been there before and recognise the incredible value of a school holiday recharge. But there is still some space available during the main holiday periods for those who act quickly.
Island Escapes still has school holiday dates available in some fabulous family friendly resorts in Fiji, The Cook Islands, Vanuatu and Thailand– such as Vomo Island Resort for the lovers of luxury and indulgence, Plantation Island Fiji and Centara Grand Phuket for the more action minded family, the Sheraton Denarau Villas or the Hilton Fiji Beach Resort for families wanting apartment style accommodation. All have great kids clubs and a variety of dining options. Or of course the ever popular Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort complete with its Kids Club, Nanny Service and award winning Spa for mum and dad.
Teachers of the world rejoice! There is a holiday world without children…..
And for the teachers who are bound to school holiday travel dates but don’t wish to see, hear or encounter a child during their break there are some wonderful adults only resorts where days a whiled away without the sound of a bell, ‘lunch duty’ is code for deciding between the salad or the burger and ‘corrections’ are only required when you decide to change from chilled G & T’s to Mojitos during cocktail hour(s). Accommodation is still available at these popular Fiji resorts Matamanoa Island Resort, Likuliku Lagoon Resort, Tropica Island Resort, and some of our Thailand favourites Cape Panwa, Mom Tris and Rayavadee in Krabi.
But hurry – space is very limited and it WILL disappear as quickly as January & February did!
